Fitting Kaymar Rear bumper and Twin Wheel Carriers
So there i was thinking how to transport two spare wheels without putting them on the roof, then i spotted the Kaymar rear bumper and carriers.
It all arrived very well packed in a monster box, A very well made piece of kit indeed, I have said it before, those Aus guys really know how to produce good off road kit.
So to the installation, I removed the rear bumper in the usual way, removed the PDC sensors from it and fitted them in to the Kaymar bumper. The bumper comes with some very nice rear light repeaters, they have stop/tail/and indicators in them and fit in place of the rear reflectors. Just as well because when the job was finished i noticed that the oversize tyres i have on obscure the tail lights a bit.
Fitting is not to bad but definatly not a one man job (even one my size) there are some fiddley bolts that have to go down into the chassis rails and locate out through some holes, the bolts have stiff wire welded on to them to help with this. There is a bracket either side that bolts to the chassis as well, all the parts are well made and go together well.
just a few wires then to connect the lights up and the bumper was on. The wheel cariers just drop on the the stubs that stick up and a bearing fits into the top and one bolt holds it all on. You can use the bumper with out the wheel carriers fitted, or you can fit just one on any side if you want.
The bumper has hi lift jacking points built in to it as well.
As always pictures in my gallery.CLUB "Ah Shor it'll be grand"

Is that a step on the left hand wheel?
Number plate grabber jobby me thinks (as the wheels obscure the original) but it looks chunky enough to use as a step....

No Stu, it's a numberplate holder, i took the picture before i fitted the plate, the left hand wheel covers the number plate so they give you a new holder for outside the wheel.CLUB "Ah Shor it'll be grand"

Excellant Chris..... But just one thought,...... If someone runs into the back of you, will the wheels smash through the tailgate .
Re the light cluster, I think you need to add some nice LED lights to the Roof Rack Duncan

The bottom of the wheels is nearly a meter off the ground, and they are held there by 3"x2" steel box section so unless it is a truck doing 50mph i would think, No.
If they run into the back of me, they can do as much damage as they want CLUB "Ah Shor it'll be grand"
