OK, All done. It was indeed two bolts. Both sides came out really easy. What looked like a 10mins job in the beginning which took me hours was a 10 min job in the end (if that makes sense)
However,..........
Having fitted it all and attached my rear winch bracket, it reduces the departure angle by far too much
So Ive taken it all off and put the other one back on
Thanks for all your help Duncan

Although it does reduce the departure angle, nothing's stopped mine one yet. It can be a bit noisy on rocks - it would protect your back bumper though Disco 5 HSE Lux

Thanks for this info guys, I actually considered taking off the bumper to whack those bolts out before coming back for another read.

I agree this is a good thread. I also used it 2 weekends ago when I was fitting mine.
I'd spent almost an hour scratching my head on how I was going to get the bolts out and had just about given up. Of course, after I have fired up the pc and read this thread I wondered why I hadn't done it before I started the job!
Cheers,
John

Wow! Excellent thread, well done. I did think that I could just crack on with this "simple job" alas not. After 1 hour of frustration I came here.
I would not have ever guessed that there is a bolt into a threaded insert, I thought it was one big bolt. Even with the knowledge it was a bitch of a job.
Never again....until the next time that that is

If only Dunc
I did think the immediate torque of an air tool would make the bolt leave it's sleeve immediately instead me slaving crying and swearing while it spun on itself for 10 mins per side Captain Nick Medhurst would ask:

I hope you'll all excuse me for feeling so smug. 8)
I read up before hand on here and acually made sure the nuts on the outer ends were nipped up good and tight before trying to undo the inner ones.
I'd say it took me all of 10 mins to fit thanks to disco3.co.uk
