I think Ron might have been implying that based on your experience of fitting winches to past vehicles perhaps you may have come across some things not mentioned in the supplied fitting instructions.Making Barry ( and anyone else interested) aware of any pointers or sharing your experience would have been good and in the spirit of Disco3 as you say yourself " Where People Matter and Tradition Counts".
