Just following on from my post , We fitted the winch last Saturday , here are some pics on how we got on .
Remove lights and grill.
Next remove bumper , side mouldings pulled back to remove bumper
Crash bar removed , the eight mounting holes now need to be drilled out to 12mm for
new bolts
Air regulator for front suspension needs to be removed next . wire loom and air lines
will be relocated later.
Crash bar modified to take the winch control Box.

Crash Bar re-installed , water bottle modified , wires run in and A-bar mountings now installed
Winch Tray now fitted in place
The XP 9.5 getting ready to fit
Air regulator , refitted and airlines relocated.
Bumper marked out and ready for cutting
Test fitting after cutting.
Test fitting A-Bar . mark up holes ready for drilling
Winch fitted to tray , ready to be wired up ,
All back together now .

Top job Barry,
I'll buy in some bacon for the butties, and you can call and do mine next
Why do the EU regulators get their panties in such a twist about A-Bars and then let us put wallopin great big winches on our D3's specificially designed to knee cap people passing by, never mind us hitting them
Your all kitted out for the quarry & forests nowNine-tenths of wisdom is being wise in time.

Good point about the EU regs there BB.
Which raises the question........
How does the winch go down with the NCT
Anyone had any experience with that yet

Thanks Chaps for the comments it certinely is a different Disco
from when I started adding bits , I guess it evolved and Im really happy with it now
Its just 3 years old now and I paid the last installment on my 3 year loan last month so it
all mine now and Im going to hold on to her , Will get a D4 in due course when they
come on sale , but the D3 will be staying as my toy
As far as NCT's (DOE test for me as I'm commercial) , i don't see the winch being an issue
as its not something thats on their list of things to check
