This morning I’ve gone out to an almost dead flat battery, managed to get it running after a while. Had the battery on charge most of the day now, according to the IID Tool the current battery is at 12.5 Volts, 14.5 with the engine running.
What I cannot get rid of is the message when you put the ignition on is or when you stop the engine is “Low Battery Start Engine”.
Have done the re-set with the IID Tool, Service Test-All Ecu’s-Vehicle Reset.

12.5v = about 60% charge, you need 12.7v for a full charge, new battery time I guess It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Whilst running stick a multimeter across the battery to see what the alternator is doing.
Batteries can just let go but I would want to rule out a potential issue with the alternator before throwing money at it. Mods:

Secondary battery 12.7, Stop Start doesn’t work though, hastn’t worked for almost a year now, still sleeping ok.
Yes they can let go at will, remeber years ago, had one fail with no warning, only stopped for fuel, absolutely dead when went to start it.
Will check it later when it returns, was concerned why it was so flat yesterday, just click click click.

On charge overnight, was fully charged this morning, D4 has been back four and a half hours, decided to pop the bonnet put a tester aceoss the battery, 10.3v, not enough to start it.
Called LRA, AA on the way.
Edit: AA have called to say they are coming to get it going but that’s all, they can’t fit a new battery, it’s a Dealer job apparently

Dead Cell, leaving it on charge overnight, LRA supplying a vehicle, we’ve just got to take it to the dealer in the morning. They did suggest that the AA take it to the dealer tonight and leave it on the road outside, declined that one.
Long story, shortened version, never went to the local dealer as advised by LRA they couldn’t look at for a couple of days so LR despatched LRA to call in and fit a new battery on the drive, he couldn’t understand why he was not sent to us the day before as he was working and lives three miles away.
Final note: Stop Start has started working, been ten months since it worked, battery been on the decline awhile
4000A, you can start a vehicle without a battery connected, fantastic piece of kit.
Best money spent after IIDTool, it start my Defender Pume with completely flat battery.
Good enough for the D4 also.
Do not spend money for smaller starter, you will waste money and no more!!!
On recommendation of dgardel acquired one of the above, used it a couple of times when I’ve come across someone with a flat battery, wow, just connect, switch on, tells you what voltage the connected battery has, turn the key and it spins over with no struggle. Used twice now and still showing full charge.

On the advice of someone on here I bought a cheaper version. Not used it yet so can't comment.
