Flexible loadspace protector

Was thinking of buying the above, is it any good? I have the heavy duty rubber mat but I'm fed up trying to hoover dog hair off the seat backs and carpet on either sides of the boot

Nice tough material, fits space well even covers back of middle seats when down, but attachments ( suction cups to glass side windows, & press studs )useless.

Ended up using industrial self adhesive velcro to plastic trim in boot and stuffing the suction cups in the grills at the side of the boot compartments.

The biggest prob though is all the spare material when middle seats are up. I ended up using round plastic electrical ducting with a long bungee attachet to the side middle head rest stalks to support it and tucked the rest of the material TIDYLY down the back into rear footwell space (I don't fit the loadspace cover in there).

So a bit heath robinson but good protection. Tried to source as good material to make my own but was going to cost more than these mods and LR's half hearted effort.

Would e-mail u a pic but car blown its susp compressor Crying or Very sad

Been driving useless dog/tow car (Mondeo) for 5 days Evil or Very Mad

I've got the LR one and although it's good quality I agree with you on the fixings, they're useless. Haven't got round to sorting it out yet as I only use it occasionally but I was thinking along the lines of heavy duty velcro too

Comes with a nice pair of gloves though and with a clever bit of folding will fit in the gap under the 3rd row seats when not being used

I had a similar cover with much better fixings from http://hatchbag.co.uk in my last car, don't know if they do a D3 one yet but worth checking out

If you have a dog get one of these - www.dog-bag.co.uk - been using for 3 months now and no dog hairs or saliva on windows!!!

Dogs can pee in it, sick in it and eat in it as totally waterproof and cheaper than rubber D3 matt for boot

There's no way my dog would put up with being in on of those, I'd give her 10 minutes tops to rip it to shreds

Don't think they're too hot on dog sizes either, biggest one is 90 x 90 x 85cm listed as St. Bernard size, fine if you don't want your dog to be able to move, might as well just wrap them in clingfilm

Bought the LR flexible loadspace protector today......and taking it back tomorrow because its crap. I though £89 would get me a beautifully fitting cover. No its very poor and on fitting one of the zips bust so back to drawing board.

Very roomy and sturdy and if the dogs uncontrollable better it rips the Dog-bag to shreds than the back of your seats!!! or put an electric collar on it and electrocute it when it mis-behaves.
I've had no problems, main thing it stops the dog hairs from getting out!

I thought they were Korean takeaways Shocked

Electric collars are getting popular over here, having been a roaring success in the States for gun dog training. I wouldn't give you tuppence for one personally, unless it was to break a stock worrier, it which case its that or an ounce and a quarter of number 5s. Crying or Very sad

Refer you back to my comment Mad The US now has a strain of dogs that will only respond to electric collars. It is common that dogs get burnt out and will refuse to even move for fear of shock. Dogs should be trained through positive rewards and pshycology not frying them with a shock Evil or Very Mad

The mere fact that you suggest using one shows that you have no right to own a dog or any other animal for that matter. There is NEVER any reason to resort to such an inhumane method of trying to train an animal!

My dog is one of the most mild mannered you'll ever meet (not that I'd allow you to go anyway near her), she will just not tolerate being confined in something that she can't even turn round in, especially when she could get out of it so easily

Slimer the bags are for drying dogs and are okay they are in many respects a lot better than having a hot wet dog left to get cold, but the collar bit IMHO is wrong, except in the case I've mentioned.

These bags are for transporting dogs in the back of a car, fine if you've got a small dog then you could put it in one of the large bags, my point was the large bag isn't big enough for the dog they suggest you could put in it.

I've seen the dog drying versions and they are good but you wouldn't leave a dog in one for long. Always having had large/giant breeds we just sew a couple of straps onto a towel and wrap that around their body after toweling them down.
