Flickering Rev Counter Needle

Hello,
I have a 2010 D4 Commercial & as the dark nights have started to draw in I have noticed teh rev counter needle has started flickering. Just this 1 not the speedo & all other instrument illumination seems to work fine.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so what is the fix? I consider myself fairly competent to attempt a repair myself as long as its not too technical!!!

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave.

I had it on my 12MY GS. Went into the dealers but they couldn't replicate it and it never done it again until the month before I traded it in.

What's the mileage?
Any other symptoms?
IIRC I saw a similar post recently and it was suggested a gearbox flush was needed.
Have you tried a search?

If you mean start to flicker as the needle to go up and down covering a few hundred revs while maintaining the same speed then this may be your TC on its way out. Especially if you have a judder on acceleration.

Or do you mean the light itself illuminating the needle flickers?

Thanks for all the comments, just to clarify its the needle illumination that's flickering not the needle fluctuating.
I have (hopefully) attached a short video here :

If anyone has any ideas I would be grateful as it can be quite annoying.

Thanks,

Dave.

Try exercising the dimmer wheel by the light switch.

Gareth,

Thanks for the post, that was the second thing I did after giving the top of the dash a couple of 'taps' neither of these seemed to do the job Crying or Very sad
All the other illumination works fine, inc dimmer so I was thinking it must be a loose/bad connection in the cluster or possibly a loose bulb?

Dave.

I don't think the ipac uses bulbs. I reckon it will be leds. Looks like you may have a duffer.

I have this on the speedo needle but only when really cold weather. It's ok after warm up or a decent journey the day before. Indie said it can happen, wasn't concerned about alternator or battery. Doing my head in!
