Doesnt have to be a G4 specifically that's just the example I used. The wind defelector on front of the rack is quite a flimsy piece of plastic or metal so I'm guessing they are attached to frame somehow??Cogito ergo sum!

G4 rack = manly rack for the true adventurer. Often stuffed with spare wheels, wolf boxes, fuel and water.
prospeed rack = fairy rack for the fashion conscious, eco conscious, penny pinchers worried about 0.5mpg and those who spend a lot of time driving around with nothing actually in their rack...D3 07 SE - still going strong

Mine exactly same as yours by looks. I'm assuming G4 type Looks same as all the others I've seen?
It does have spare wheel on it (but only when going off beaten track), couple of antenna mounts and high lift (and occassionally a canoe!). Sometimes has boxes and sometimes not. Defo not a fairy rack
Your going to AO arent you. Be good to put a face to the name Cogito ergo sum!
