Forum discount on self catering holidays at Colemore Farm

Because we like meeting like-minded folk, we're offering a 10% discount on our published prices for all forum members at Colemore Farm www.colemorefarm.co.uk

Ideally located for couples or families -- young and old. Loads to do and see, with or without a Land Rover, including Ironbridge World Heritage Site, Ludlow, Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury, plus the best of the rest that Shropshire has to offer for food, drink, walking, outdoor pursuits and the arts.

Hope to see you soon...

From the web page:

"Dogs
We accept well behaved dogs for a small additional charge of £25 per dog with a maximum of 2 dogs."

Thumbs Up

Thanks, Bill. You beat me to the punch! Wink

Excellent dog walking in the local vicinity and slightly further afield too with the Bridgnorth and Ironbridge "Walk With Boomer" dog walk guides and the local OS map waiting for you here. (Plus books of pub walks and family walks of course...)

Dogs get forum discount too BTW. Thumbs Up

Thanks... Didn't have time to look through all the web pages.... Only tend to choose holidays we can take Mollie with us these days. The cottages look great. Thumbs Up

Do you have wi-fi there? Thinking when I work from home I could do a nice mon-fri break there Smile

What pubs/services are within walking distance for a family with dog and baby in pushchair?

Looks lovely.... seriously tempted to do a quick March/April getaway.

dubbs

Have PM'd you with details of local hostelries, etc, which I'll edit/refine to put up on this thread later.

Thanks very much for your interest.

Having considered things, rather than re-engineer the PM I sent to dubbs, I thought it might be better to simply provide a link to our "Gimme Five" page.

Despite the cheesy name Embarassed this provides ideas of things to do, places to go and--most importantly--to eat and drink nearby.

http://www.colemorefarm.co.uk/page/30/gimme-five.htm

The page includes suggestions for the sporty, the outdoorsy, the foodie, kids and families and loads more. Stick to a theme or pick and mix. Shropshire is a bit of a well-kept secret, but there's no shortage of things to keep you occupied, if sitting in front of a blazing log burner isn't your idea of fun.

Special offer for anyone able to get up here on Thursday (21 February): four nights for the price of three (with further Forum discount), making it under £90 per night for up to four people, including all towels, sheets, central heating, electricity and welcome pack of local produce.

Would love to see another Discovery in the yard next weekend... Wink

Cheers, buellbeast! The limitation on sleeping four (plus one in a folding bed) is our biggest bugbear.

Hoping to convert the other barn soon to provide for 6 guests. Watch this space... Very Happy

Have just returned from a thoroughly pleasant stay at Colemore Farm.

The barn is just beautiful, Richard you've done a great job with the conversion and waking up to the noises of sheep, pheasants, ducks, chickens was superb (so much better than cars, buses and vans!!). Welcome pack was very...er... WELCOME!! Rolling Eyes It's great to sample the local produce from the butter and cheese to the Ironbridge Brewery Gold ale... delicious.

Barn is extremely warm, luxuriously appointed and fantastic hot showers (always something I take note off, can't stand low water pressure!)

The walks with Dexter (who loved the log burner for curling up in the evening!) showed just how close the River Severn is and great access to it, he was straight in there for a swim even if the current did worry me a little (thankfully he stayed within his depth) Pheasants galore where we were walking, think I need to get up and out earlier (or evenings) to spot the deer and badgers - that's on the list of next time.

Bridgnorth is a lovely market town, nice range of shops to cater for all whims including a good deli and butcher for taking treats back to the barn for the evening (will make much more use of that the next trip up!!)

The recommendation of Mr Underhills in Ludlow was worth it, even if a bit of a drive away, sheer gastronomic bliss!!

Shame we didn't get time to sup a beer together and chat D3s but maybe next time Thumbs Up

Can heartily recommend Colemore farm to other forum members, very impressive and plenty to do and see locally.

Now just to prize the estate agent property details out of my wife's hands... I think we'll be moving soon at this rate!!

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Many thanks for your generous write-up. It makes setting up a new venture worth all the effort to get that kind of feedback. Thumbs Up

BTW, would you like a job as copy-writer/PR man for Colemore Farm? Wink

It was a pleasure having you here, and great to see you really packing the full Shropshire experience into a few full days. Nice to have another D3 in the farmyard too. Hope to see you all back soon--either as guests again, or maybe even neighbours, by the sound of it!!

Thanks again!

Ken - sorry about the restriction on just two dogs. Although I have to say that Dexter was very well behaved. All our sheep, cats, ducks and chickens are all intact--albeit strutting about again with a bit more bravado now that he's returned home.

Forum discount obviously remains open to anybody that's interested. Just PM me or use the contact details on the website: http://www.colemorefarm.co.uk/page/12/contact-us.htm
