[Wanted] Sniper Rifle Suitcase "foam"

You know that stuff that snipers on films line their suitcases with?

What the hell is it called? I can't for the life of me find what I am looking for!

Trying to search the interweb to no avail - apart from the peli case stuff that is about a million pounds for a little bit - and not what I am after anyway..

I want to line my drawer system with it for my important stuff..

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Google your nearest foam shop - I would imagine they will know. Looks like acoustic foam will do the job http://www.thefoamshop.co.uk/product/258-2...M--EGG-BOX

Do a search for Waffle Foam or Convoluted Packaging Foam

I have lined my gun cases with semi rigid/packing foam from a company called eFoam.
They have an option of 'solid' which is what I use then cut out the shapes myself with a sharp pointed knife or 'pick and pluck' which is a sheet with 1" 'cuts' and as the description says you just pick and pluck the bits where you want a space.
I don't know how to post pictures or I could put mine up. The sheets of sponge are very cheap compared to Peli prices so you can afford to experiment !

Worth factoring in a few packets of dessicant (Silica Gel) or better still dessicant AND a pack of VP90 if you're going to store anything prone to corrosion in your drawers (ooh matron). This foam doesn't breath and can lead to rust nightmares if not properly ventilated or dried.

Foam

Couple of years back I was taking guns to and from the u s and needed 2 different cut outs ,I bought the foam called egg box foam but can't remember where from..
But my tip for you is the cutting of said foam !!!
When you've marked it out cut it with an electric carving knife ,it's great..
