[Free] Milenco Mirror Pads Aero Discovery Range Rover

Guys

I have 4 of the Milenco Mirror Pads for the mirrors for Discovery 2016 onwards, D5 and I think Range Rover 2014 Onwards. These are the ones with the small lip to locate in the grove on the mirror. On my D4 and D5 I found only one each side was needed, so one LR pad and one flat pad fir each mirror worked well.

I have put them as free, but a site donation of £5 would be appreciated Thumbs Up

I have just asked Milenco if these work with their Platinum mirrors. Although the Platinum's have a "better" flexi rubber pad, it still doesn't fill me with confidence and find I am over tightening..

Hopefully, they will come back and say they are compatible.. D4 HSE Lux. my 2015 . Mariana Black

I still put 2 wraps of insulation tape around them as they do fly off. Member of the carrot crank club

Embarrassingly in for the 2nd round, bought another two

D3 Jack Russell carrier
D4 Landmark for towing duties

Never had mine come off either the D4 or D5, but I did do the “glue a small piece of rubber on the opposite side to where the clamp tightens against” mod.

I doubt that they are compatible as the fittings are totally different sized. I was sent a set of the Platinums for evaluation and spoke to them about their R&D on the product. Like you, I do feel that I might be over tightening them (I’ve used them on many cars, some of which you daren’t tighten them up as much as on the D4 - BMW mirrors are made of the most brittle plastic imaginable - and not one has ever dropped off). You’d be surprised as to how loose they can be.

Yep, I actually broke one of the arm brackets, it made a crack sound and I thought I had knackered the mirror housing, but it was the bracket that had split. I guess it shows how tough the LR wing mirrors are.

I find that as you tighten the brackets, the tape of the mirror, tends to make the pad slide off..

Ok, so these pads fit the milenco Aeros, but from what’s been said not the milenco platinum mirrors

i cut a small section of old rubber push bike inner tube off and put it on the smooth bit solid as a rock and no slipping Thumbs Up MY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car
