Freedom from those dam sticky parking tickets at last

Here is the good news. I got a part from Volvo today. It appears to be same part that should fit in the LR3 and it fits well. It is called a ticket clip !!

To fit the part gently lever of the air bag sign on the right saide pillar (if thats the pillar you want to fit the new clip to) . Behind the clip is a Torx screw (star shape) Unscrew and then pull the pillar towards you and gently up wards.

It will come away quite easily. Slide the new clip making sure its the right way around . Push it into the pillar at the bottom until it clicks and locks itself in. Gently replace the pillar the same way you got it out. Screw in ,put air bag clip back on, JOB DONE.

The part number if you call your local volvo dealer is 8616658, part name is ticket clip (quell surprise)

Cost of clip including VAT in the UK was the pricely sum of £2.99

Time to fit clip less than 5 minutes.

So where was the curry hook on the Disco 1/2 ? I used to have a great big wide space protected by a rubber mat between the front seats on the last motor which was ideal for balancing a curry takeout - just wondered how you did it in a Disco... Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

The curry hook was on the passenger side of the centre console, in the footwell. As a devout curry monster, I found it invaluable in the D2 days.

Now, I have to place my curry on the passenger seat, AND put its seatbelt on! If I don't it puts the warning on Surprised (or at least it did until I used Ecosse's fix to stop the bong)

I thought the heated seats were there to keep the curry warm!

On Order

Thanks for this.

Rang up with the part number, Volvo getting one in for me by 9am tomorrow. Told them it was for a discovery - "He had to put a car on the on-line order programme !!"

He laughed and said it was a ford number on his system !!
