Friday Night Suspension Help |
|
After a 5 hour extra thorough valet today I now have a suspension fault; vehicle raising slowly and vehicle will rise when cooled. The compressor sounds OK but the controls are not responding properly. It keeps defaulting to a locked access height setting. Vehicle currently at off-road height and not sinking but slow to raise front end
AA just been out and squirted multi plugs and battery disconnect tried but to no luck. Any suggestions guys?
Thanks, BCP

Could be an air leak ...it tends to overheat if it has to do lots of work like comepensating for a leak 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Could the battery be a bit low if the key was left in the ign or interior lights left on during the valet??
Did they jetwash the wheel arches or underside maybe some water in the height sensors or i seem to remember that maybe bodsy had a problem with a multi plug on the N/S/R
hope this helps Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!

Thinking about it now, what Rescue01 says might be it.
If they blasted the wheearches, there may be water in one of the connectors, giving the ECU a duff reading.
Try it again this morning, hopefully it might have dried out by now My D3 Build Thread

Having now read through hundreds of posts regarding suspension faults Its seem's likely to be either a bad connection somewhere or a low voltage battery fault.
Once we get the Faultmate plugged in later we should have a better idea. Club Forum Criminal !!!

Buellbeast (Andy) found fluid contamination of the pcb beneath the suspension and high / low box controls. One hairdryer and alcohol application later it's serviceable but TLO we need a new one.

That was me too, after Salisbury. Jet Washed the N/S/R and thought I would be ok, but the multiplug is there for the Sensors on the Hub and Suspension. Mine locked between Access and Normal and I lost the Rev counter n Speedo. Lesson learnt, dont prolong washing it that arch, too much plugged in there.

Faultmate came into it's own today and directed us straight to the faulty Terrain Response switch. I think the valeters must have got a little carried away in that area.
First time i've had to fix a car before buying it
Was nice to meet you Brodie. The car is everything you said it was and more
It would have been a long way to come if we didnt fix it but i'd still have come just for the bacon sandwich
Thanks again Club Forum Criminal !!!
