Just got the car back from the dealers yet again, now telling me the front brake discs need replacing. Anyone know how many miles these things should last? Mine's a high miler (60k) but about 45k of those are on the motorway.
BTW, This is one of a HOST of problems I've had since buying from new WibbleMoan

I wouldn't have thought 60K miles was out of the way on 1 set of discs, but it depends on a number of things how often you might have to have them done. I understand that you may have had problems, and this is unfortunate, but brake discs are after all wearing parts, just like tyres, so we all have to expect to change them now and again. The dealer has changed mine after 70k Km, they were very damaged cause of too much sand off-roading and sporty driving.
You can check and see the discs by yourself if there are too much scoring or some spots, sometimes it just needs to be replaced cause they get out of thikness (the min. thikness is mentioned on the discs) '05 LR3 HSE V8 - Adriatic Blue - Larini Exhaust System - Lamp Guards - Dual battery system - Hidden 12k winch - Rasta Sump Guard

Mine is also on 60k miles, and the discs look OK. I expect that the next pad change will probably require discs, I expect that at @75k miles.
