Apologises , forgot to add
If u get some of those brass pushfits , remove the voss connector ( NO. 8 ) in The reservoir valve block on the line that goes to the front valve block , or can cut the pipe on the straight bit to allow u to fit the isolating valve and then after remove it to fit a pushfit coupling
Hope this all makes sense

Thanks stuart. I will be double checking front valve block tomorrow, both front wheel arch liners are out at the moment. The nearside front strut was changed just before I bough the Discovery, So will now look to fit a new strut to the offside front. I will order a couple of valves so I can test and segregate off the three parts of the front of this system if my checks tomorrow on the valve block are unsuccessful. I have tried to check the air tank as best as I could without removing it, but my thoughts were that if that was leaking on top then wouldn't the rear of the vehicle drop also? It seems that the pressure is remaining in the system fine, its been 24 hours now with the fuse pulled and the rears have not moved.D3HSE Silver - D3SE Black - D3HSE Black - D4.5 Green Overland

Ur Very welcome
Wished to apologise as I forgot to say ref the isolating valve to get one that incorporates a pressure gauge
There for u can test on the side of the gauge , hope that makes sense
Enclosed some pics of the set up I put together in the end, but alas suspension was in a terrible mess , was a former heating engineer so useto test a lot of gas lines etc , think I got carried away, lol
Also pic of the gauge I also used
I’ll find a link as well for u
That’s handy at least one strut has been done and when I replaced both of mine could really tell the difference in ride quality
Hope that helps
Ps, not that it really matters, it gary , lol

Forgot to add, I used a hand vacuum pump, like the ones u use for bleeding The brakes to test the valves blocks
I wanted to do a test to ensure the valve blocks wernt letting by, so on removing the valve block I got some 6 mm push in blanks , then short piece of pipe and pulled a vacuum in each port , failed miserably and that was after I had cleaned it out with the white dust and renewing seals
Can also use the vacuum hand pump to test a line
Sad I know but really enjoyed doing the fault finding
Then used the bigger vacuum pump that u normally use to suck the oil out, was very useful testing multiple lines
However in most cases, the hand vacuum pump, isolating valve in operating the gauge , few 6mm push in blanks and some pipe
Will find all the links for u
Plus ref the outlay , it’s so handy to have for further use and found by doing it this way I could test each valve block, air tank and lines
Ref air tank, can easily disconnect it from the reservoir valve, attach the hand vacuum pump, pull the vacuum and watch the pressure gauge
Hope that helps and will look for the bits for u and don’t hesitate to ask anything if I get stuck or something that I’ve said doesn’t make sense

No probs and ur so welcome, always amazes me when people ask for help and never include a please of thk u
Always nice Helping people like ur goodself who appreciates it
Looks like that valve has been discontinued, but still searching
Have been trying to find some metal ones, ie like lever valves, suppose if I can’t find one with a gauge maybe cutting in a push fit tee with a gauge attached
Like the tees in my pic
Would rather find the same type for u as the plastic ones I find don’t really last
Ur always welcome and plse feel free to give me a shout
Plus found that hand vacuum pump a godsend, easy to test lines along with valve blocks and air tank
Also quick tip , ref plastic pipe, plse make sure the ends are cut straight and no burs or cuts
Sorry rambling again and great it made sense to u, lol
Plse let us know how things go

Thanks for finding the T link ... link lol. I’ve just ordered - along with some of the other 6mm push fittings including 4 of the voss connectors and a couple of metered of the 6mm hose I have also ordered the 6mm Voss to airline input also from eBay so I can pressurise from a separate tyre pump if needed - although I’m still a long way off having as much suspension diag kit as in your pics! I would need to build another garage first to house it all. I’ll let you know how I get on. D3HSE Silver - D3SE Black - D3HSE Black - D4.5 Green Overland

Ur very welcome
Haven’t given up searching for that isolating valve
Plse tell me u didnt buy voss connectors or do u mean the other Brass ones , can’t believe the voss connectors are around £12-13 quid each
U can instead of pressure use that brake hand vacuum pump , using the rubber hose that comes with it use some 6 mm tubing to connect to it, can then connect to what ever u wish, ie air tank or valve blocks l plus ideal with the incorporated vacuum gauge
Know when I pulled vacuum in the valve blocks it saved me a lot time, seeing after carefully rebuilding them they still slowly let by
Yeh i know, lol, do have a few bits that I’ve collected over the years
Shame ur not closer otherwise u could have borrowed it
Indeed please let us know how u get on and plenty of us always happy to help if u get stuck

Just too let you know, I’m reading in on this too because I have a suspension issue with a possible air leak. And I appreciate you posting this. Thanks.

Just as an alternative view on this, my front end would drop over about three days unless I left it in off road mode. This lead me to believe there was a leak in a front airbag that was covered by the different fold position of the off road mode. I mentioned it a few weeks ago during servicing and fully expected two new air bags and/or valve block required. Turn out the front ride height sensors needed recalibration, the car was lowering itself slowly. They were recalibrated and the car hasn't dropped since.D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

hi, been reading through this and some very useful info, thanks all and especially the thorough responses from Gary!
I've been having the overnight suspension drop, front first and then all round by about 24hrs later. Got underneath properly tonight and found a badly leaking front passenger strut. rubber at the bottom was perished badly and bubbled all round with soapy water.
tonight I disconnected the battery just to check if it's dropping at any other corners. after 3-4 hours rear didn't look too bad, and passenger front was the worst obviously, but front drivers side had dropped a few cm too. is this suggestive of front valve block issues too? I couldn't see/hear any leaks on the drivers strut but I suppose it could be leaking? I guess it is best to replace the front pair of struts anyway.
