Front lower suspension bushes
New to the forum so please bear with me!
I've got a Disco 3 08 plate with 76k on the clock.
It's just been MOT'ed and serviced. An advisory came back to say the front lower suspension bushes need replacing.
The garage I take it to do LRs all the time and the chap showed some wear on the new tyres I've put on and demonstrated the wheel judder under braking.
He tells me he can just replace the existing bushes with some polybushes for 550+ VAT. These will never need replacing.
On investigating this further I've read that it's better to replace the whole arm as can be a real job to get the bushes out.
What are people's views on this ?
Many thanks

Cant help with the poly bushes, but I had both my lowers arms (bought complete from AF for 300) and fitted for 160 all in.

Poly bushes are a bit to severe for a Discovery unless your doing a lot of off roading, the uprated RRS front arms are a good compromise.

Agreed, polybushes are too harsh. Change the arms

If you change the arms fit Range Rover Sport arms, they are the same ones that are fitted to the armoured Discovery or just fit RRS bushes, but in your case if you are not doing them yourself it will be cheaper the fit complete new arms.
Look on site sponsors Advanced Factors web site for prices, most come with a two year warranty, longer than LR's.It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

RRS bushes are heavier duty more durable, last longer and still give a comfortable ride with an exact fit, they are recommended by all the professionals on here, Poly bushes cost more to fit and whilst may last for life will give an harsher ride.
The bushes can be fitted into your existing arms at minimal cost or you can fit the complete arms for little extra cost, if purchased from advanced factors ISTR some come with 24 months warranty.
It is usually the front arm rear bush that fails, rarely any other on the front arm, if cost is a priority that bush alone can be fitted at a cost of a few pounds plus labour.
You will need four wheel alighnment done after fitting.
Next day delivery from advanced factors, highly recommended, don't fit cheap unknown bushes or arms.It can when others can't,

If you are doing the front arms its wise to look at the ARB bushes and droplinks at same time.
Also maybe inspect the inner and outer rubber CV seals for leaks before starting.

And check the steering control rods for wear, in fact check everything associated with the front suspension and steering, although your Indy should already have done so as any future work in this area will make 4 wheel alighnment necessary. It can when others can't,

many thks for the heads up, it's my rear upper bushes that need replacing , the drivers side is the one but will ensure the pair are replaced , noticed it for the first time a little while ago , as i was going round a left hand bend it felt as though the right wheel wanted to tuck under if that makes sense
when it's on normal height and check for movement on the rear wheel there's none, put it into access it's a different story , can really feel the play in the bushes, assume with it being in access it's not under load
am still learning after 10 x months of ownership, regardless of all the hard work i've put into this i wouldn't change it for the world , is ideal for the dogs having plenty of room to stretch out on the middle seats
