Front seat belt replacement |
|
Hi all,
I have searched for this but couldn't find anything on the forums that helped - apologies if it's there and I've missed it.
My problem is that my wife's 06 SE has a worn drivers seat belt - not worn in that it looks dangerous in the event of an accident but worn along the edge of the section that rests over her (ahem) chest when she's using it. The edge is almost sharp and it plucks her jumper or fleece so that it has a row of multi coloured bobbles left on that bit. It doesn't affect me as much because the belt stretches over part of me that's slightly lower down...
Has anyone else experienced this and how hard would it be to replace the seatbelt? I've tried a bit of wet and dry to take the sharp edge off - this has helped but it isn't perfect.
I have an aftermarket warranty and guess that I could try that route but I'm not sure that this would be covered (or could I argue that the seatbelt is dangerous? It has passed it's MOT recently.)
All thoughts/ help gratefully received. ---------------

I'd say any wear or deterioration of a seatbelt is a serious issue and could affect it's performance in an accident. I'd get it replaced ASAP - even if it means paying for it
