Front suspension, slight issue.. |
|
My front suspension I’ve noticed appears to have ever so slight positive camber especially on the passenger side, also this is reflected in the tyre wear, outside edges are very worn. It also doesn’t appear to grip as well i would expect, especially in the snow it’s a bit lethal.
It had an advisory on the MOT of upper arms need changing, could this be the problem? Or are there any common bits that can cause this?
Sometimes when you give it full lock, you can feel a “skip” as it nears full lock and hear it too, so something is definitely not right.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

I believe all the lower arms/bushes were replaced on the car before I bought it, could it be a case of no alignment afterwards? Although this wouldn’t explain the skip sensation on full lock.
The MOT tester also said suspension was ok bar the upper arms.
Strangely enough, it drives pretty well too, no odd handling sensations (other than lack of grip in snow), other than as of late I’ve noticed a slight wobble from what feels like the front left..

Either a set of arms, or something is damaged underneath
Never seen a D3 with positive camber. Never seen a D3 even get near its minimum tolerance of 0.30degrees when being aligned My D3 Build Thread

This couldn’t be down to a wheel bearing could it? Appearing to give the look of pos camber..
I’ll get it looked at this week hopefully.

My brother in law is going to attempt to sort this issue this coming weekend, however I’m none the wiser as to what it is.
Does anybody think it could be passenger wheel bearing? (Wobble from what feels like front left, felt through steering wheel, skipping sensation on full lock, outside edge tyre wear).
Or does it sound more likely to be the upper arms or maybe lower arms?
I was hoping for a diagnosis but with being busy and being let down, I haven’t had a chance..
