Frozen tail gate switch
Couldn't open the boot this morning as the tail gate micro switch was frozen solid i.e. you couldn't press it because it was hard.
Anyone else experience this or can offer a solution ?
I will programme the LR button on remote to release tail gate but thats not really the best solution.SOLD - 23my Range Rover Sport D300 Dynamic SE

Yes, there is water getting inside the button and obviously freezing up. Wont be too long before the microswitch inside the handle gets too corroded and wont open
Needs a new handle, and kinda soon before it stops working altogether My D3 Build Thread

You can carefully prise the rubber cover off the switch, and clean all the corrosion crud out and then spray the whole thing with a good dose of white grease or similar waterproof lube..........don't try and remove the actual switch part of the handle (like the nice man in a yellow van tried when mine stopped working ), as the switch is not available separately - you need to replace the whole rear door handle (inc number plate lights etc)Jim
