Looking back at my records
D4 MY12 so far 26.1 over 11,200 miles, worst tank at 23.7 best at 32.8
D4 MY10 did 24.6 over 30,638 miles, 19.7/32.8
D3 MY08 did 26.0 over 14,767, 21.5/31.5
All were standard XS autos - D3 was 2.7, other two were 3.0 - with broadly similar mix of trips, all fed on BP Ultimate the vast bulk of the time. The really horrid figures tie into fast runs back from the Lakes with canoes and kayaks on the roof rack!
The latest one reckons about 430-460 range when full; it used to read more like 380, but seems more optimistic since I did a very gentle tank (the week when there was no diesel to be had!). The latest I've left a fill on this one seems to be 440 miles off 77 litres; I think it's an 85 litre tank, so 485 ought to be achievable (but I'd want a jerry can in the boot to try this!)

D4 has an 82 litre tank with a minimum 12 litre usable fuel in it....... 2016 Discovery 4 Commercial

Does that mean it's a nominal 82, with a further 12 in reserve, or actual 82 and you shouldn't go beyond 70? I seem to have a couple of 83l fills on the D3 records!

The D3 had a bigger tank, think it was 90 litres or something.... 2016 Discovery 4 Commercial

OK my mistake then..........wasn't sure! Another point to make is that the official fuel economy for the D4 2010MY states 8.2 litres/100km on extra-urban journeys, so if the tank is 82 litres that equates to a potential exact 1000km to a full tankful.... on certain journeys on certain roads...... 2016 Discovery 4 Commercial
