Hi
I have a problem with my fuel filler lid it does not lock. I have checked the actuator pin and that seems to work ie when opening the doors the pin moves back and when locking it goes forward.
So to all intents and purpose it should lock when closed, but alas it doesnt, when i lock it the horn beeps as though one of the doors or bonnet is open, which they are not.
I hope someone can help as Im not sure if there is an anti siphon device fitted in the fuel filler neck.

I have no idea if the following could be true but...could it be that a door/hatch switch has failed and the car is refusing to lock the flap (rather than the fuel flap being unable to lock)? Went for a job as a human cannonball. Not the right calibre.

Not too sure about that, I have looked on tinterweb and it appears that a small part on the actual lid may have failed.
I haven't had time to check, but i will have a look at it today

My fuel flap has only played up twice in 5 years. It stuck shut once coming home from Glenshee in the ice, salt and snow, even though everything looked clear. It sorted itself out, but I still complained to the dealer as the car was new and supposed to be a bit more rugged than that! Recently it stuck shut after I had had the battery out to do some work. Locking and unlocking the car several times cleared the fault. On both occasions I had stopped for fuel. I don't suppose I check whether it's unlocked when it shouldn't be very often. Went for a job as a human cannonball. Not the right calibre.

Miko does the horn sound if you leave the flap fully open and lock the car, just wandering if the flap is no properley aligned and as such when you lock the car the pin does not go to the fully locked position and as a result the horn sounds. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange
