In Dutch it would be something like :
"PAS OP HEET, niet op je edele delen morsen !"...
Translates literally :
"CAREFULL HOT, don't spill on your noble parts !"..

Spent many great holidays in the Netherlands in the 70s/80s so started to learn Dutch. Gave up since most Dutch people we met wanted to use English in conversation. First time over there we headed for Amsterdam towing a caravan with S2a petrol. Not the fastest of vehicles and doing about 16mpg. We were heading for Uitdam N of Amsterdam but finished in Amsterdam centre. We kept avoiding routes indicated by ‘Doorkaand Verkeer’ because SWMBO who was navigating said that’s not where we want to be. As everyone knows it means through routes. Still we saw some interesting parts of Amsterdam we would never otherwise ventured into. Great holiday. Four weeks of the summer of 1976 beside the the Ijselmeer.

In France last year, arrived at our hotel I said to SWMBO as we approached the desk "I think I'll try out my rusty French". Quick as a flash the receptionist said "please don't, sir" in French-accented English! I had to laugh.
We found most people in hotels, shops and restaurants spoke decent English and were happy to do so. Many actually wanted to so that they could practice.
Many years ago, went on a trip to Germany with a friend in his S2. My German was limited to asking for a room and a beer and little else. It got us somewhere to kip so not totally useless. We were camping and a couple of German lads were having a kick about. As happens, we joined in. It wasn't until a Dutch couple arrived that we spoke other than nods and laughs. The Dutch translated English - German - English for us and we all got along famously. That trip was the last time I went skinny dipping. With one of the German lads girlfriends... How many lives shattered. How much blood will spill, until everybody does what they were always going to have to do from the very beginning: SIT DOWN AND TALK!"

On the Dutch camp site I used a few years ago, the Dutch owner had one German resident. He didn't speak Dutch and the Dutch owner didn't speak any German.
They communicated perfectly well in English. Mods:
