funny steering

I took my d3 in for a 30k service, When I got it back it veered off to the left. it turned to left under braking. The dealer has been very good about it and lent me a sport. They are trying it with different tyres on as they think my AT2's may be to blame. Anyone any ideas.

Was it doing this before you took it in ?

If not, how would your tyres suddenly be the cause post service ?

So it came out with the same tyres that it went in with, but now steers to the left?

Assuming that there isn't a serious pressure problem/difference, then there's absolutely no reason why the tyres would cause the steering to pull....

There shouldn't be anything that they need to touch during this service that may affect the steering or tracking. Are you sure that the chap who took it for a test drive, didn't smack it into a curb?

The service schedule states that tyres / wheels should be swapped over right to left, not front to back (personally I think this is a bad idea...) maybe this is the cause? particularly if there is suspension 'bush settle' on one side

I swapped the tyres back and it was still out. I was thinking it could have been banged, do they take them for test drives on services?? it was sound before I took it in. It was so bad this morning I couldnt do more than 45mph with my trailer on, was all over the road.

they should test drive... have you checked the tyre pressures?

I checked the presures they were all bang on. Think ill get you to do it next time. They are being very helpful about it. The pull is so bad that I was in the fast lane on the motorway and within 4 seconds it had pulled nearly into the hard shoulder. It pulled under braking as well.

Very strange - have they over-torqued the wheelnuts?

Why don't you just call LR Assistance and get them to tow it away Rob?

It certainly doesn't sound roadworthy......

TBH if it's moving this much, then it sounds like it's had a bump or something that has upset the suspension or steering.....

hmmm.......another thought - did they change the brake pads or adjust the EPB by any chance?? Just thinking what could cause it to drive off to one side if the wheels are really pointing straight forward......I guess the only other option is that one side is being slowed down......

Would that ruin the hub. There was lots of talking away from my ears and everyone was extra helpful. Ill keep you posted on the out come. Still Ill enjoy pretending to be a drug dealer in me rangie sport tomorrow.

The brakes were done about 5000 miles ago.

The dealer has it I had to get to a job this morning then took it back in.
