Gearbox fault light on!!

Driving to the airport last week, doing about 60 in traffic, the gearbox light came on. Big Cry Big Cry

I slowed right down, but noticed that I lost power and the revs did not match the speed gained. Almost like driving a car with a slipping clutch.

I am still out of the country and will need to get the car back to Birmingham when I return.

Any thoughts on what it could be? Any indies in Brum who could sort this out for me?

I believe it's been a while since gearbox oil change
No idea on levels etc
No diagnostic tools, so not sure on what is actually going on.
