Gearbox Lever Pivot

I'm planning to replace the lever this afternoon and have read through the guide and posts but don't understand what the 21mm spanner and holding the metal part is?
I think I realise that you have to hold the lever still while you start turning the lower 13mm nut but why a 21mm spanner?
Do I need to go and get one or would an adjustable spanner do the job?
or am I just over thinking??
Thumbs Up

You are only using the 21 mm spanner to hold the metal piece whilst you undo the 13 mm one otherwise you could wreck the box internals. An adjustable will also suffice for this job. Smile

Cheers Globetrotter, I thought that just wanted to confirm. However job all done and working fine, had a scare when I got my measurements wrong and had to readjust the arm.
I even done the bonnet catch service as well and all under 2 hours.
Good day all round thanks to the forum Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
