What is the story on gearbox/tranfer box etc oil changes? I am told that nothing is ever touched "down there". I tow a 3 tonne load and so I would have thought that changing those oils would be good for the long life of the various boxes.Near enough 40 degrees South!!!
Nothing to stop you changing the oils yourself. My transfer box oil was changed recently (during repair work), the diffs were done today, and I'm going to do the manual gearbox once I have more information about the oil spec and equivalents(BOT 338). Mines done 85K miles, so it's still 65000 miles away from the LR recommended oil swap for the boxes and diffs, but for the sake of a few £ and a mornings work it's worth it IMHO.Previously:

Thanks for that. What price are you getting quoted for oils. I am being quoted the equivalent of 33 pounds per litre. Apparently need around 7 litres.Near enough 40 degrees South!!!
