How to Stop Ice Clumps On Wipers?!
It was a continual problem for me Thursday evening and I had to keep getting out of the D3 to clear clumps of ice from off the end of my wiper blades! As you can see from the video they just smeared the window when the lumps of ice were stuck on there!
Not a huge problem for me here in this country but how do people in say Sweden get over this issue?!

ISTR keeping the heated screen on helps ar there are elements at the bottom of it to keep the blades Ice free.

I’ve had the same problem, ice builds under mine where the mount for the wiper arm is (Bosch wipers).
Tried leaving the heated screen on but that didn’t really help much.
Must be a trick from our colder weather friends on here......

I had the same issue and then remembered that I hadn't upped the concentration level of screenwash for the cold snap. Also solved the frozen water yet issue.

My current -20 screenwash works well. Only get ice build up overnight. , free it off and clear the wiper in the morning before starting. All good then. Bodsys Brake Bible

Having your air flow manually selected to screen also helps when it’s that bad.

Ditto!
Heated screen wasn't enough, needed the blower on too. Never experienced it before!

It happened to me on my coach at work, spent 2 hours stuck in traffic on Wednesday and as soon as the snow started to build up it froze. Nightmare

No idea how the SWEDES get it done for us FINNS it boils down to this:
- use washer fluid which is rated at least down to the coldest you expect to have, preferably a bit more (I use -22 .. - 34 in the winter)
- have heated screen, this together with the former solves most of your issues
- change to new wipers autumn/spring, the winter will the rubber up
- direct warm air constantly to the window, might make your car a sauna if you drive very long distances
Hope this helps.

My wipers suffered from this on Thursday evening. The heated screen didn't seem to make much difference, I found clearing the wipers and then keeping them on was the best option. My screen wash had frozen though 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
