I just got some plates made at Chestnut registrations. Ordered on line and only needed scans of driving licence and V5. No originals sent.
Got some really nice traditional classic white on black riveted plates for ‘Bob’ Not cheap, but they do modern plates also. Next day service.

Search ‘show plates’ on eBay. Will do road legal (with all markings, etc) and won’t need paperwork.
One thing I’m noticing more is most no longer do a ‘sandwich’, as in clear Perspex on front then letters/numbers on reflective film then a black backing plate. Most forego that backing plate these days....

^ As per my link, although I guess the term show plates is generic. 👍2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Just had a set delivered from these peeps. They look very nice and ready to drill & get them on, well once we get the V5 through, and find the drill.
Only question is to do with the additional markings. They have the company and post code but don’t have the BSAU bit. Shouldn’t be a problem for the MOT in 30 months time. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/mot-inspection...he-vehicle

It was said to me by an MOT tester that they don't have to have the BSAU marking but do have to be legal. The BSAU marking proves that they are but they can still be legal without the mark on.
This was on a cut down motorbike plate, had legal fonts and spacings but was much smaller but still legal ref the 'land' around the edge of the plate.
Imagine the plate 'A1' and how small it could be but you wouldn't need a legal sized plate 'blank' for it to remain legal

No guarantees, but this company is used by countless members of the U.K.’s largest motoring forum. So I’d be inclined to say nay bother. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Agreed, not a concern once I checked that it wasn’t an MOT issue.

I've used this supplier before and just ordered some more this morning. Within 30 minutes got email confirmation that they were made and waiting collection for delivery. That's fast......
I like their website as you can 'build' your plate up as you like it. I prefer plain plates with a pinstripe border but with no badges, etc.
Never had a problem and no documents to fart about with as they are based in Ireland I think.

I got mine from 'Plates for Cars" who did an excellent job quickly. They are based in Dublin so didn't require any of the documents.........ssssh!

I've been using Demon Plates for many years and won't use anyone else.
https://www.demonplates.com/
They've got nice 'plate builder' software that allows you to choose different elements and see how your plate looks before purchasing.
The paperwork stuff is just scan & email.
Works great for me. I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.
