Glove box housing removal

Hi everyone
I'm trying to remove the glove box housing.
The left hand side. Top and bottom. I have removed all of the screws successfully. It's the right hand side that's proving difficult. Two screws are hidden by the Center console. It would seem I need to remove the whole of the Center console to get in there.
My question is am I missing something obvious

Rich

I know this is an old post but has anyone done this? I want to replace mine in an 05 disco 3 with alpaca trim for the black upper and lower - I can see from kerb side what needs removing but do i need to remove most of the dash?

thanks in advance

Hi Hairy
I bought a Haynes manual and yes I had to remove the centre console. I still had diffulculty getting to the remaining two fixings and unashamed to say they were not replaced.

It’s too difulct to explain here how to do it but a Haynes manual does explain in a very roundabout way.

Rich.

I don't recall doing that when I removed mine to get at the fusebox.... though I'm struggling to remember exactly what I removed, the dash stayed in place.

I recently replaced the lower glove box lid on mine,

I couldn't be Arsed to strip all the dash down to get at the plastic hinge pins that are a pain to get out
luckily the replacement had the pins with it so, I just used my multi-tool and cut through the pins where there is a slot in the hinge and used the new pins
took about 5 mins to replace it

not sure how the top one is fixed on but hope this is useful

thanks all
I managed to do this last night, was a bit of a pain but doable - make sure you remove the screw retaining the front lower dash trim (where passengers feet are and to the right as your sat down!!) this allows you to pull the trim out and the glove box unclips from that side

hope that makes sense and helps someone else to do this!

Cheers Andy
