Good electrician in the Cheshire/merseyside area

Hi all. I'm after someone who knows what he or she is doing with an electrical cable!

I've recently had some under counter lights replaced in the kitchen. It's gone fron 12v to low powered LEDs and when they are on they are great. The problem is the guy we've had fit them is probably a little out of his depth because when you turn them on nine times out of ten they work but on the tenth time they fuse and its so frustrating. He's been back three times to attempt a fix and has even removed some but they still fuse.

I'm looking for someone who might help and at a price that will still allow me to fuel the car. Thanks Steve [/img]

By fuse do you mean
The rcd or Mcb trip?

Need more info bud
How has he connected them ?
To a lighting circuit
Plugged in at a socket (it happens)
Running from a fcu?
How many?
Are they properly ip rated
As steam from a kettle can cause a fault with will trip a rcd

I was called to an elderly lady's gaff for some minor jobs, one being tripping kitchen circuit..

Turned out the exhaust from the microwave was right by a socket , upon checking it was as green as green thing and corroded and wet inside the back plate, plug top innards where in same state...

May not be able to offer a solution yet but...

1. How many led bulbs are now fitted.
2. What wattage are they.
3. What is the output which will be printed on the transformer.
4. Was a new transformer fitted when the new new LED's were installed or was the original transformer used.
5. How long is the cable run between the transformer and the first LED fitting.
6. When you say they fuse, do you mean the fuse/mcb/rcd trips at mains comsumer unit or do you have the transformer plugged in to a standard wall socket or connected via a switched fused/spur.

I really appreciate the time taken to reply. We have a run of lights that go the length of the kitchen. Probably 22 - 25 ft long. The first run has 7 1.8 watt LEDs and two separate new ( supplied with light) transformers at least I guess what they are. The next two runs have two separate 1.8 watt lights with individual transformers for each. When they fuse I'm talking about the rcd tripping. As far as I know they are wired to a lighting circuit. We have a two switch on off type affair in the kitchen. The first does the ceiling lights ( about 20-24) and the other does the under counter lights. As far as I'm aware the length between the cables and the transformers are fine as this is something I remember him saying. The transformers were purchased from the same company as the light specifically for the job and from memory six appliances per unit could be used but we went for four max.

In terms of steam etc affecting I wouldn't have thought so as it happened immediately even before we boiled a kettle.

And finally, I'm sorry if I sound a little out of my depth but most of the questions just sound like white noise Rolling with laughter because if I felt I was up to doing the job I would have done but then I remembered the shop where I worked as a sixteen year old, when for some inexplicable reason when I was asked to change the fluorescent tube I ended up on my ar Censored e and ten feet into the room after putting one finger in one socket.............and you've guessed it.
