This it the answer they came up with on the other forum

a=b+2
a+b=a*b

Thus a = b+2

substiute in

(b+2)+b=(b+2)b

b+2+b=b^(2)+2b


2b+2 = 2b+b^2

2=b^2

2=B^2

squareroot of 2 = b
can be - or positive, thus not necessarily an integer

then do same for a



So i think your technically correct, you could have said the answer was anything you wanted i wouldn't have known Big Cry

I can see my old private maths tutor was well worth the money my parents splash out on, it would have been better dished out at the local pub instead

Off Topic I bought a Methanol Fuel Cell today to run some remote kit. In the handbook it states that :-

Anode Reaction: CH3OH + H2O => CO2 + 6H+ + 6e-
Cathode Reaction: 3/2 O2 + 6 H+ + 6e- => 3 H2O
Overall Cell Reaction: CH3OH + 3/2 O2 => CO2 + 2 H2O

I'm not convinced that this is infact the case.. Can anyone confirm? Laughing Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!
