I think you will find the H rated will be dropped in favour of the V rated tyre in time.

I am in need of some new tyres in the next couple of weeks - having read horror stories about the Generals wearing the lip of the alloy, have they addressed that issue with the AT3?
I'm going to need a set of 20" tyres soon and the AT3 looks perfect but having replaced a full of alloys due to wear when I had AT2 this concens me.
Any experience of issues or too soon to know?2016 D4 Landmark - Waitomo/Ebony

Just out of interest, and won t be for some time as i just got 4 new wrangles off the stealers free of charge, but are they not rated very well amongst peers. Everything is about the gg and duras.

Incredibly happy with mine. Near silent on the road, very grippy on tarmac and mud, perfect tyre imho.
On downside is ive lost a couple of mpg but that could be down to the fact that mine have a slightly deeper profile than standard and the speedo is now reading true do the mpg computer is more accurate.

Got a set of AT3 fitted. 275 45 R20 because the 255 55 R20 were not available. Went for V speed rating over the H. Look pretty agressive. Don't seem any noisier on the motorway, haven't properly tested them off-road yet.

I have had the AT3s 20" on for a couple of months and I think they perform really well, and road noise is no more then the Scorpions, great grip in soft mud also
Hi guys,
Fairly new to the forum but wanting to look at options when I need to replace the current 255/50/20 Pirelli Scorpions that came fitted when we bought it.
I like the look of the AT3, and looking to fit 255/55/20, and came across this thread. Hilly10, is this what you are running on your Discovery? If so do you have any issues with the increase in profile?

I am considering buying a set of AT3's for my 20" wheels, However I'm a bit concerned about their performance in muddy / boggy grass conditions. (Most of my off roading takes place in the winter on muddy tracks and wet fields) They seem to be very much orientated towards wet roads and snowy conditions, even the construction / tread pattern looks like a snow tyre, and as anyone who has driven in muddy conditions on snow tyres knows; they don't perform at all well, they just get clogged up straight away!
I was quite happy with my AT2's on my old disco with 19" rims in fact I still have a set of part worn AT2's on 19" rims which I plan to run this winter.... but then what?
Would appreciate any muddy feedback

I’m running AT3s and happy with them, but if I was driving in more mud than motorway I’d have put another set of Duratracs on - they are surprisingly good in muddy stuff.

Do you find the ride is harder due to the 45 profile?

Cant say ive noticed any difference between a 50 and 45 profile as I believe there is very little in the rolling circumference.
Might just be in my head, but the extra 2cm from a 255 to a 275 makes the car feel a little more planted.Last of the D4 HSE...

Any issues with rubbing on full lock or against the wheel arches in access mode?

AT3's
Did an off road course with Pro Trax back in February at Tixover.
The site was an absolute bog and me in my D3 on Scorpion Zero's, a defender 90 and two 110 defenders that did well to get round and finally were defeated by 1 in 4 incline?
A guy with a 2008 FFRR TDV8 went round effortlessly with brand new AT3's did all that we did and sailed up the incline, and said the vehicle suited his uses perfectly on these AT3's as he is often attending shooting events on fields.
My D3 struggled in certain situations found on that day, I think my current tyres are fantastic for road, dry off road tracks and everything else that isn't boggy or potentially soft ground.
The Scorpions are fantastic for general road use, giving a Rolls Royce ride.
My ideal would be a set of AT3's on a spare set for when I know when I could be up against it!
The perfect all rounder does not exist for me but could be achieved with a second set in my opinion.
