One of the things I've been very impressed with with the D3 is the improved turning circle compared with the TD5 I had before. I would have been damn embarrassed but you've taken all this and the mishap in your stride... Mind you, I would have been watching where the instructor was going and followed him not taken my own route

The point is that I believed I was taking the instructors route. We hadn't been given specific details of where to go other than where the entry point was and the exit point. The bit in between was left to "follow me".
After coming down from the 'Car Park' area to the waters edge the Defender had completed the journey through the 'lake'. I could clearly see the entry point and the exit point so concentrated on completing the exercise. I had not appreciated that indeed there was a dog-leg path through the 'leg'. I liked the way he hitched a lift to you on the 90, no way was he going to wade to you. Loved how the rest of the guys just watched you slowly sinking.
Still more than TFC he had to go behind the bushes to get stuck

huh, nine days and that's the best you could come up with personally, I'd have blamed the sat-nav or "the voices in my head made me do it" though for taking the incoming so well

I vote that coffeecup goes first when we are in Wales, hows your off road nav. The deep water tends to be blue and ripply.

that's where things went wrong then, the sat-nav clearly doesn't identify mucky brown gloop as water
