I would like to thank the forum member that introduced me to the TRAVALL dog guard http://www.travall.co.uk/index.php?main_pa...ucts_id=87 I ordered online Sunday and it arrived today (Tuesday) and I have now fitted it. Great quality, very ergonomic, easy to fit and looks great in gun metal grey in my metallic grey Disco.
There is mention of it in a couple of threads but I thought it deserved a little more as it seems great value for money. I bought it to protect the children from flying objects in the rear, it is so easy for things to come flying forward in the case of an accident or the need to brake sharply. I also have a small dog so it will contaib her after we have been for muddy walks

I went OEM LR guard and was a lot more than that, but I guess I needed the whole caboodle with the dog divider too.

I thought I had posted in this thread last night, but I must have closed the browser before it submitted.
I bought the Travall unit a few months ago and it is fantastic....a very good sturdy piece of kit and can be removed in around 3 minutes.
I bought it from their website, but I'm sure I didn't pay that price - more like the price that Paddock are selling it for....
It would seem that Travall have upped the price recently 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

The LR one is full length, so I guess that is some of the difference. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

I paid £60 for the OEM Full land rover one - got it 2nd hand from Wiggs! It was missing a bolt which Bodsy supplied FOC. So I agree the forum is great.
I only want one for occsional use when going camping etc. just to stop kit flying onto the kids. I don't have a dog. D3 HSE MY05 Auto

They do them in full length as well I am just very happy with the quality, ergonomics and ease of fit plus of course the gun metal grey that goes with my car and interior. I have not seen a LR original one so can't comment, but as Stu said, very important bit of kit of you pack in loads with kids in the back, have a nasty accident, you could survive that but be killed with a flying load. Anyway, just my view, I'm no H&S freek, but I could never live with myself if something happened to the kids for the sake of well £100 in the case of the great deal Slimer found

Again I'm not H&S geek, but a little true story for you.
A mate of mine - fittest bloke I've ever met. Had a head on car crash at about 30 mph so 60 mph impact.
He broke his back because he had a Sigg bottle with about 500ml of water in it on the back seat. For those of you that don't know a Sigg bottle is a very lightweight ali bottle often used by outdoor minded people.
The imapact cause the bottle to fly off the back seat and smash into the back of his seat and break his back.
He was lucky in th fact that he was concious and alert enough to realise that his back might be broken and stopped anyone from moving him until the Paramedics arrived and trumpton chops the roof away so they could get him out. This possibly prevented any further damage and his spinal cord survived. He has now made a full recovery and is still the fittest bloke I know, but he is careful about stuff on the back seat!
