Handbrake Shoes

When to the brake shoes approx. need changing on a D3?

I know if probably comes down to wear/use, but is there any set intervals?

Mine's coming up to 85k miles on the clock, and I'm looking to change the rear discs and pads this weekend, and wondering whether the shoes would be good to me done at the same time

Thanks

Ade

It really does depend on what you find, one side on mine, the linings disintegrated due to poor adjustment by a dealer Evil or Very Mad , the other side was absolutely fine. If they are old and everything is corroded including the retaining pins etc I think I would be tempted to change them even if the linings are not that worn, Correct adjustment, cleanliness and integrity of the components is important on these, and it's not a job you want to be doing often. For the sake of £100 or so for a pair (both sides) incl pin kit,(from TLO), it's not that bad really. Thumbs Up
