Hard reset issues

Hoping someone can shed some light on my disco 3 2008 issue

2 days ago, my wife broke down, with a flat battery, I have replaced the battery to find that the heated seats now do not work, lights come on, but we have no heat.

I have read up on how to hard reset, in the hope this will solve the issue, but I am experiencing the following.
When I remove the key, leave the car unlocked with the doors shut, the park light goes out, as does the interior light, but the nav and screen below do not.
According to instructions, you should not disconnect the battery until all light are out.

Any thoughts as to what I should do ?

Keen to try something different, when I close the bonnet, all the lights go out, apart from the brake light. Question

When I lock the car, the lights go off, baring the break light, which seems to take 30 mins or so to turn off.

I am concerned that something is draining the battery.

Any thought are much appreciated.

Is the screen below the radio?

How long are you waiting?

I'd leave it for 15-20 (or 30) minutes and then just disconnect the battery and do the reset anyway even if a screen that should be off is still on.

I'd also make sure the battery is fully charged and that it gets a good charge when driving. Short journeys especially with the likes of heated screens and seats on drain the battery and don't allow it to get fully charged by the alternator. Also worth checking the alternator is working properly.

Turn the ignition on I and then off. Screen should go off.

Or wait 10 mins.

Hi Jack,

Yes sorry the screen below is the radio.

Battery is actually brand new.

I will do as you suggest and see what happens.

Thanks

Suggest you monitor what the alternator is doing and keep your eye on it.
Also, check the state of the new battery as failing alternators can kill new batteries and can also cause some rather odd symptoms.
Try charging the battery using a decent charger too.
Your experiences with the screen + park brake light staying lit for a short time sounds normal.

Doesn't mean it's fully charged though.

I've bought a brand new battery before from a wholesaler which was flat.
