Right chaps the saga continues, Went to halfors and got them to check the battery and all seems fine with the battery. I have just chenge all 4 stop tail bulbs with new one so I hope that will do the job as there was no problem with it when I was driving it earlier. Will check it again tomorrow, just want it right for winter.
THANKS all the same for your help.

Mine has just started with the same faults (exactly) But I am sure its the battery started with HDC fault at start up a few weeks ago; When I checked the battery one cell was low on acid (below top of plate's) topped it up but think it needs a good charge. Its only 13 months old so hoping its not goosed and a good charge will revive it
 Now Renault Trafic
D4 gone
D3 gone

Just returned from Land Rover where they had put the diagnostic checks to it where it had poppoed up with a faulty brake switch. Land Rover charged a total cost of £72.00 all in.
Is this a good price can anyone beat this?

Ive just had exactly the same thing...

I did notice that i had a Transmission Fault for a minute or so before i got the HDC Fault, and then Suspension Lowering

The lights were off around the Terrain Response dial, and the Height Adjustment lever, and i had all sorts of warning lights on the dash, including DSC, a yellow version of the hand brake symbol, and a yellow car which had a vertical arrow in it, and then arrows either side sugesting the car was going to fall over!

This happened after 5 minutes of driving! Does this sound familiar to your problems? Not sure if mine is different with the Tranmission Fault.

I plan to change the brake light bulbs, and switch first and ill test the battery at the weekend.

Took the car to Land Rover for them to place it on the diagnostics and i was the breke switch which was faulty and they replace it. The cost came to £72.00 all in. So I'm hoping that will do the job.
All the symptoms you mention was what happen to my disco 3 so yes seems like the same faukt. Must have someting to do with the cold weather.

Mine has done exactly the same. All the way back from sheffield to yeovil...nursed her home. Ill replace stop lights and brake switch too to see if it works! In the night, when accelerating i do see 'smoke' in the behind car headlights...yet lastnight in limp home mode there was none. I take it in limp home mode the turbo doesnt spin up????
Right, off to get some new parts!!! And get fault code removed!

I finally got the hdc issue fixed. My fuel filter was corroded and had started to get water into it. Its only 3years old but was well abd truly knackered. Its now running like a dream again. Who would have thought a fuel filter would have caused such bloody calamity.
Damn you Landrover!!!!!

I also suffer from the infamous HDC fault.

Then the following happens:

1. A beep and the message in the HDC FAULT SYSTEM NOT AVAILABLE display. At the same time, the power goes away.
2. Within a fraction of a second later, the message: ENGINE SYSTEM FAULT appears
3. And again within a fraction of a second, the message appears: SUSPENSION LOWERED (to "entry level"
4. Limited gears available

I experienced this HDC fault problem during my summer vacation in France.
I had helped someone with a startcable on a campsite and he started while my engine was not running.
So I was afraid that my battery had a boost and that was the cause of the problems.
According to the garage, it must be no problem.
After reading my error codes (P0101, P0191-23, P0191-24, P2290 and some other communication error codes), I have replaced the fuel filter.
However, this did not appear to be helpful after 1 day. In the end, my car went by car-ambulance to the Netherlands for the 2nd time in his life. Crying or Very sad
The dealer could not find anything and, by my story, he has replaced the battery. This seemed to be good for a long time, but after 8 weeks the HDC fault returned.
Again all communication error codes (U codes) and a P0087 code.

What struck me was my right brake light was broken. This was also the case in the summer of France. Then the lights are replaced. But now again the right brake light broke down.
Based on this forum I have proposed to replace the brake light switch now.
I also received an DVD error, which I also had in France. That could indicate a battery problem, but it has already been replaced, so I don't understand.

In summary, I have undertaken the following actions in this order;
1. Replace the fuel filter
2. Replace brake light
3. Replace Battery
4. Replace brake light switch
5. Replace brake light

It's going to be good for a couple of days, but of course there is no trust. Does anyone have any more experiences that can help me find a solution?

Thanks in advance.
Pieter

Search alternator on here ... this will have dragged your new battery down.

The alternator is already tested and I have also monitored the voltage of the battery (on the secret screen) so I don't think that's the reason.

You cannot rely on the secret screen for battery info. Rolling Eyes
You need to put a multimeter across the battery to see what it reads whilst the car is asleep.
Then start the car and check the reading again to indicate what the alternator is doing. It should be up around 15v at first start up dropping to around 13.6 - 14v after 20 minutes or so.

You are showing the symptoms of slow alternator death however that P2290 code might indicate an issue with the HPFP. Big Cry
P0087 is fuel rail pressure too low, which also indicates HPFP even more so now you've replaced the filter.
Have a read of this thread, it might sound familiar: https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/suspension-...63344.html
