I'm reading this and many other posts and cannot make head nor tail of half of what is written due to references of M12 D3 D4 etc etc and not knowing whether that refers to the model I have .
Can anybody give me an idea of what I have been driving for the last nine years, different one every three years the latest was bought at the end of March and is a Discovery 3litre SE Tec Auto.
Previous Disco's were XS and SE.

Now the nights are drawing in I have just reset my D3 for UK, forgot about them having been to Germany. The small lever is difficult to see if you don't know what to look for. It is right down the side of the xenon lamp unit .
Have you got a pic?
I actually removed the headlamp and still could not see it, even removed the d2s bulb to make it easier and still no go!
I am going to go with the ignore it camp, but I would like to know what the real answer is.

headlamps
Just to add. Although mine is a 2015 rr sport with adaptive lighting, same as disco, I had an absolutely nightmare night drive through france in the summer. I estimate that at least every other car/lorry coming towards me flashed or left their lights on mainbeam. Cars were overtaking and putting on rear fogs or braking. Total nightmare. I tried putting gaffer tape on lenses, which didn't do much good, but was very hard to remove. Eventually I crept along on fog lights & didn't drive anymore in the dark. In spite of what the handbook says, they do need adjusting for europe.never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly

not at all Red merle, much appreciated for your info, I was just trying to clarify the other bit that I didn't understand.
I have a brand new Disco so from what I have read it is an MY15, what I couldn't understand was the reference to an MY16.
And no, I didn't pay for anything extra on my headlights so it seems I just have to settle for automatic on when dark, night or rain.

I believe MY16 will be the second release of vehicle in 2015.
Just had a quick nose inside my adaptives and cant see the lever even though my handbook assures me there is so maybe I will take the lights out later as it only will take a minute or so.
Further investigation required

From the handbook, p58 for 2016MY:
HEADLAMPS - DRIVING ABROAD
The headlamps have a beam pattern that eliminates the need to mechanically adjust the lamps or add any external stick-on decals.
To configure the Auto high beam system for the side of the road on which you are driving, proceed as follows:
1. Using the menu control on the steering wheel, select Vehicle Set-Up via the Message centre.
2. Select Auto High Beam setting.
3. Select Drive on Left or Drive on Right, for the side of the road that you are driving.
Seems not be the case as I don't have that menu choice.
Mine is a HSE 65 plate but did not pay extra for the adjusting high beams. So I guess just normal xenon.
A bit disappointed and surprised it doesn't come with the left/right drive option. I guess I'll have to do with stickers then.

MY 16 went on general sale in Summer 2015 and has an EU6 compliant engine while the MY15 has an EU5 compliant engine. Biggest difference is that EU6 has AdBlue, a slightly lower CO2 level and slightly better claimed fuel economy.

Caesi01 if you don't have the menu option then it just means that you don't have auto high beam assist fitted. You don't need to add stickers, you don't need to do anything!

Know anyone that will let you swap lights for the day?
