keeping to the theme of this posting , my front screen does work but there are 2 sections that dont appear to be.
First one is roughly centre screen and about 1cm wide top to bottom , second one is far right (drivers side) of the screen and this one is about 2.5 - 3 inch wide again top to bottom.
Would this indicate that the filiament in the screen itself has gone in those places?

Screen in in 2 halves ..there is a gap of about 10 millimeter down the middle
There is also both edges of the screen that are also not covered ...these taper down so a bigger gap at the bottom than the top ...perfectly normal
Have a close look at the screen and you will see no heating elements in the middle and down both edges G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

I notice mine take that much longer to clear than last year at this time Still clears, but not as fast. I may have to have a try at what TFC mentioned about saving energy setting. My front screen switches off before it's cleared, needing a secondary prod of the switch.

My passenger side it fine, but the drivers side has some big vertical gaps. It is definitely where the elements are as you can see them. I guess some of them have burned out somehow.
Didn't get it changed under warranty as whenever I have had a screen changed I end up with another problem or some extra damage to trim or paint.

I noticed an increase in time my front screen was clearing, apposed to last year, spoke to my stealer who told me that it is not meant to clear heavy ice (had a lot here) but for condensation.
Anyway at the weekend, with the car full of kids and wife and after a days skiing the front screen started to fog up so I turned it on and happy days it worked fine.
My stealer pointed out that in light frost it would work fine but the heating elements are thinner than the rear ones, which can pump out more heat, and are there as pointed out already only for condensation.
What do you think Stadt Panzer Power

just noticed, the wipers work more slowly (manual 1 wipe mode) when front screen heater is on. Turn it off they go back to normal.
