Takes about 2 minutes for mine to clear. The demisters start to clear a patch immediately above the vent first, Then the elements clear the rest of the screen shortly afterwards.

About 2 mins for mine in -10c this morning. Better to sit on those heated seats than freeze outside!

Or freeze inside, hey Del?
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Also about 2 - 3 minutes for mine to clear - just gives me time to clear SWMBOs car which is German and does not have such luxuries Big Cry

a couple of minutes typical for me too - dos tend to thaw in one great sheet unlike the back where you getthe stripes

Finland

An update to the subject what I've forgotten from last winter since my heater elements were working ok for rest of the season.

Yesterday we had here in Finland first reminder of upcoming autumn as windows of D3 were frosted. (Global warming, eh?)

I'm pretty puzzled how heating elements are working; first couple of minutes only left side of element is defrosting, after couple of more minutes right hand side starts also defrosting. Confused

I had to take a picture of it because I thought people in service don't believe me. Have any one else had same kind of behavior in one's D3?

out of interest - what is the "Normal" amount of time taken to cear a well frosted screen. For me it seems to take a few minutes.... maybe I am just impatient but I am sure I could scrape it more quickly (all-be-it freezing my nads of at the same time)

It saves using de-icer with nasty chemicals that cause a film on the screen and is as quick. Also unless you have long arms, you might not want to climb on the bonnet to reach the middle!
