nothing more here today - our road is STILL like an effin' skating rink on a slope (both grit bins empty and no chance of a gritter getting down either) and people are still getting stuck though. -6 tonight should bring another day of fun tomorrow.
does anyone know what the market value of a B+Q bucket of grit is worth Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

-6 in Bramhall, still got 3 inches of snow. Today, I drove to a job near Uttoxeter, not much snow there but plenty of ice.
Tomorrow I am off to Melton Mowbray. Not sure if they have snow there.

-3 and roads are just sheet ice. No snow here, but had an inch or so fall about 5 miles south of here and looks like similar to the east and north. Meanwhile, I'm standing by at the sharp bend in the middle of the village with my tow rope, a shovel and a bucket to collect the contents of people's wallets in exchange for a) pulling them out and b) not harping on about the 30mph limit they ignore every day on their way to their cosy civil service job at the county police HQ. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Was in London yesterday, left 4PM when snow started to fall. trains all delayed but got to Farnborough at 5:30PM.
Getting out car park was a mess as was central Farnborough so stupidly decided to cut across to Bracknell to avoid A33 mess.
Usual journey is 2 hours tops on a bad day.
Last nite got home just after 11PM so a long 5.5 hours. most of that time was getting to the M4. once there it was only 1.5hrs back to Ciren
Main issue was sheet ice, not snow
Decided not to brave it today and came to Cheltenham, nothing here at all.
Lets hope they have sorted the mess out on the M4 near Reading as it looked a nightmare on the other side last nite
