Could someone please confirm the height of D4 HSE please, the book says one thing but doesnt mention the lump thing on the back (sorry no idea what it is) and the visor says different and doesnt state what setting that corresponds to.
Thank you

On mine.... the sun visor gives a different figure to the users manual... and both of them are very different to reality.
In the end, I went outside and physically measured it on flat ground with a wooden frame!

Come on CREWS tell us the measurement please
AND does yours have the DAB ANTENNA POD, which makes quite a difference?
I never risk anything marked at 1.85M or less but will do 2.00M in ACCESS MODE.
My visor is marked at 1970mm for both DAB POD and raised sun roof BUT the hieroglyph there-on clearly implies that's in ACCESS MODE too.
It's the usual LR bug rs muddle but a potential very expensive mistake. If it don't fit the third time - try a bigger hammer

My 2012MY Pod sticks up about 6 cm from centre rear roofline.
Just measured it in ACCESS mode with a straight edge on top of the POD - (bloody difficult to do single handed), but I reckon 1920mm approx definitely not 1970 at the POD. It's 1970mm approx in NORMAL mode
So looks as if on mine the Visor is correct but should show it as to top of the POD, not roofline. But as I presume the printed visor is used for ALL models the MAX height with POD is the best one to show.
However that would suggest to me that you shouldn't try 2.00M heights in NORMAL mode with only around an inch clearence, assuming that some of them WILL actually be 2.00M somewhere, and some also have speed humps inside. My local Waitrose open-air car park is 2.00M on a barrier and I use access mode. If it don't fit the third time - try a bigger hammer

Remeber you can lock it in Access mode and it will stay there providing you drive slowly.
Useful for car parks and Channel Tunnel standard height carriages (apparently)

Yes, locked access mode does work through the std height on the channel tunnel. Bit hairy looking at the mounted mirror as you go through though.
Staff at eurotunnel know Discos have air suspension and when it's busy will check if yours has it in which case they ask you to drop it down and go through std height. Mind you, doesn't work if you have an extra 2'+ with roof bars and canoes as we did over the summer!

Mine is D4 LE, which has roof rails and a DAB pod but no sunroof. These are the actual heights I measured. To be honest, after using many low car parks around London, I don't even bother to go into Access Mode unless it's showing 1.9m!
(Audley Square Car Park is the scariest I've found so far (marked as 1.9m) but it feels lower. At this point I had a passenger leaning out of the window looking at the roof!)
Access Mode = 1,850mm
Standard height = 1,900mm
Off road height = 1,950mm
Of course you'll lose a bit as your tyres wear out!

Those a very interesting measurements CREWS.
I'm certain I was not 70mm out with my measurements. I checked it several times in access mode and I don't think more than a couple mm error with movement of the spirit level and it does coincide with exactly what it says on the visor. May be it's my POD compared with yours.
Does your LE have an Alpine roof? HSE does - maybe that affects it too.
Re the Chunnel - I think it's 1.85M for their barriers and I've certainly never taken mine anywhere other than overheight lanes and carriages. Also bug rs you for the PLUS lanes too, so can't get my free breakfast and decent pee!! If it don't fit the third time - try a bigger hammer
