Height sensor low voltage
Hi, can anyone suggest why I would be getting a low voltage reading from one height sensor? I replaced this yesterday which solved one fault, but the low voltage thing has me confused.

With this value the sensor doesn't works.
It works in a range 0.5-4.5V, above or below this limits you have the amber light.
if for >1 sensor, red light and vehcle on pads
if you don't have fault, probally the issue is in the diagnostic tool

Hi, thanks for the reply Panoramix. I have the Orange fault light on the dash continuous. The vehicle sits level, and operates on all height settings. It drops sometimes when the door opens, and it dropped overnight but that could have been a small leak somewhere as it didn’t drop in stages, it just slowly sunk.
I am going to try and trace the wires from the sensor back to the module to see if I can find a corroded wire or a broken one.
Not sure what else to try.
Cheers

the drop at open door or overnight are a they are a consequence of that sensor
Try to unplug the sensor and check the male pin terminals, it is possible that one is bent and not inserted in the female

Hi, pins are fine, had a look. I do have a question though.
The new sensor came with a red, yellow, and blue wires. I have run three new wires across to the block on the passenger side where they would normally plug in. This had been done by someone else before, but I decided to swap this out for new wires just so I would know that this section was definitely ok.
My question is this, Does the red, blue and yellow wires on the new sensor wiring correspond with the red, blue and yellow on the vehicle? This may seem like a silly question, but I can’t find any other reason that I would be getting the low voltage reading.
Cheers

Sussed it! Every replacement sensor wiring loom you buy is red, yellow and blue, even if it’s for the front where the wires on the car are different numbers. Got hold of a diagram and went with the PIN numbers on the diagram and the numbers on the plug. Warning off!
Just away to solder it up and put it back on it’s wheels and give it a run. Hopefully the light stays off.
Cheers
