Help!! Amber suspension light |
|
My amber suspension light came on last week, car didn’t drop but it did loose it’s ability to absorb bumps in the road. Turned the car off, light went away then I pressed brakes and light came on, this happened another 2-3 times. I replaced the brake light switch and took it for a 5 mile drive and the light stayed off.
Until this morning...
My mrs took the car out and said the light came on when she hit a speed bump, I put the info screen into 4X4 mode and can see the wheels altering in height to the terrain it’s on. I tried each wheel up and down the kerb and only the front left wheel triggered the light, I turned the car off and started again went for a bumpy drive and no lights came on?
I’m concerned that I have a weak battery and perhaps this is causing these issues, I get no hdc on start up in the cold/damp but only recently got the light. I feel it’s a battery voltage issue rather than a failing sensor but I’ve never seen anyone else with the same issue?
Has anyone had similar before?
Edit to add: I have a single earth to my negative terminal that’s not the best, I wonder if this could be a designated earth to some part of the suspension?

no panic, if amber light is on for suspension related it still warning
there are several things that you need to check
1. leakage
2. issue on front, center, rear air suspension valve or the air suspension bag
3. issue on air compressor itself
If there is a leakage and you just leave it, it will causing air compressor overheat and get damaged
Usually the leakage is on valve or drier of air compressor
the reason is there is rubber part on valve and for air compressor drier it's on the red/blue hole of drier
Things to do:
find out the leakage
replace relevant part
