help I jacked my car up and now there is suspension noise

I got a puncture on the n/s/ rear wheel and jacked the car up locating the jack in the hole as detailed in the manual. Stupidly there is also a hole at the rear of the plastic sill cover just in front of the rear wheel at exactly the place you would expect to jack. Anyway I realised my mistake half way up and did it correctly on the suspension arm and changed the wheel correctly.

Since then whenever I start the car and intermittently as I am driving there is a vibration like a motor or pump in operation almost exactly where i jacked it (as far as I can tell anyway). I am now concerned I may have crushed something under the sill cover or done something.

Weirdly there is no fault lamp or any air suspension problem as it goes up and down no problem. it is a 2008 car.

if anyone can help I would appreciate the steer.

sounds like you jacked it up using the compressor cover rather than the chassis. Not uncommon, by the sound of it you've damaged the compressor or gubbins. Sad

Agree with DSL, sounds like you've squished something. Take off the cover at the sill and have a look Thumbs Up

sounds like you jacked it up from the plastic cover of the suspension compessor and have broken the mounting, or compressor - its easy to take off and have a look - see here : http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/use...0Cover.pdf

You may have simply pushed it out of one of the mounting brackets (which have rubber bushes), if so it will be a 2 minute job to re-locate it. Its really simple to remove the cover, as the linked threads say, remove the two 10mm bolts and the lower half of the cover just unclips. Keeping fingers crossed you dont have to replace it all Sad !!!! Let us know how you get on. Regards
