HELP!! I think I got the 'detailing' bug!!!
This was my D3 last weekend.
This is my D3 this weekend.
I gave it a good wash using the detailers 2 x bucket method with sheepskin washmitt.
Then dried it with my new Micro Fibre towel.
Then used Detailing spray with Clay bar.
Applied Black polish and buffed off.
This is the shine on my door [1 day later].
Mrs ronp wasn't too happy cos her car was dirty and full of tar along both lower sides.
So I used the same method as above but also used a good dose of Auto Glym tar remover.
The result:-
A fine pair
Absolutely knacked off to 'polish off' a wee dram and few few beers I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

The 2 x bucket method is:
1 x bucket soapy water.
1 x bucket clean water.
Dip your sheepskin mitt [not sponge or brush] in the soapy water.
Wash a panel.
Dip the mitt into the clear water -removes the dirt particles.
then dip in the soapy water etc etc.
It's amazing just how much dirt comes out into the clean water.
Dirt you don't want thet spread over your D3 causing swirl marks.I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

All I need is a 2nd bucket and a sheepskin mitt, sort of thing (mitt) you can get from Halfords or do I have to go to one of those blackened window detailing emporiums???

Get you kit here.

Excellent service.
btw, get a thumbless mitt.
That way you can swivel it around your hand getting more use than just a single side.
or .... were you taking the P*ss I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Gonna get a mitt ordered, any recommendations on shampoo (ron or anyone) as I just use what ever I got for Christmas years ago. Could be worse, could use washing up liquid like I did when I had a company car many moons ago!

Given that you have a raised air intake, me thinks you could have gone deeper when applying the clay in the first pic. There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song

I use Meguiars NXT generation car wash. Quite thick & is designed for loads and loads of suds (which is what you want!) Has supposedly extra technical bits in it which makes the wash much easier to get the dirt off (I use it after the Gilmour snow foamer) works a treat.
You don't need too much of it to get into a good lather
DON'T EVER use washing up liquid!
RonP, looks cracking
You only REALLY become a detailer if you've done the engine bay as well & have a toothbrush for the wheels........ Bodsys Brake Bible
