HELP NEEDED - damsel in distress with windscreen wiper |
|
Can't search easily as on holiday and using blackberry.
Just met a another Lux D3 by the side of the road. Driver's side windscreen wiper not wiping (LHD vehicle. Side where spare batt compartment is).
We are on holiday in Holland and it turns out she is not only staying round the corner...SWMBO went to school with her and they lived close to each other...
Anyway - is this easy to fix ? If so, how ? Or is it a dealer job ?
Rain is scheduled for the next couple of days and she will be doing a 3 hour journey home with the kids...
If anyone can point me to a "how to" link or let me know how then I can see about re-tightening the wiper arm. If t the procedure is easier to explain over the phone, I can make the call from here.
Here's hoping. Thanks. The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeks nearly 4 weeks over 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."

probably just stripped the grooves in the wiper arm - for now, just try tighten the nut that holds the wiper arm on (under the black center cap, which just pops out)
