HELP ! New Disco owner needs to replace tyres |
|
First time here - can someone help please...
I have a Disco 3 with original Pirelli scorpion zero's which need replacing (all 4)
I've looked on-line and considered that I do 20,000 miles a year on mainly motorway but have started to do a little camping (wet fields), green laning and a little light off-road. The three tyres I'm considering are - Grabber AT2's, Scorpion ATR's or BF Goodrich AT. Can anyone tell me the most suitable from these OR should I simply be replacing the Zero's with a new set?
I've been quoted £145.00 each for Grabbers and £160.00 for scorpion ATR's.

I know a lot of folks, don't like them, but I've never had any issues with Goodyear Wranglers, both on this D3, or on either of my previous TD5's. Got 40k miles out of one set (like you, mainly motorway mileage), and never any issues with traction on wet fields with the caravan on the back either.
Worth a look?

Try AJS who is a site sponsor or have you considered a second set of 19" wheels and tyres? Ken has a few sets of 19" with new MT/Rs on, it may be worth checking this option out. Club Exped trailer
Club Timed Climate
Club Flappy paddle steering wheel
Club 300bhp
Club Prospeed test pilot/lab rat
Club National Luna Stella conditioner

At the risk of sounding like an idiot - who is Ken and how can I contact him?
I think 19's will be too pricey at the moment - but you neve know.
Thanks,

Well post again then I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
