I do one or two trips a year to southern Germany and would like to cruise around the 90 to 100 mark and be able to easily regain this speed and maintain it up autobahn hills.
I have a TDV6 and i find it sluggish. Speed is not the issue, once pushed the beast will keep its pace. The issue is not letting the revs drop under 1500 rpm since before the turbo kicks in, the engine sits down and won't regain push. You must shift down one ot two speeds.
Nominal torque is 440 Nm but i fail to perceive it, it is not where it should (between 800 and 1500 RPMs). After all, this is why they put a 6-speed gear.
Sooner or later i'll go for a chip, too.

If you want speed get a X5 3.0d Sport, they are great and will go all day at 100mph and you wont even know your doing it!!
