HELP!! .... Which Off Road Tyres do I run with ???

Bought myself two sets of wheels/tyres from Mr FFRR Ken
RRS19's with 255/50 MTR's
&
D317's with 265/70 BFG's

Cann't make my mind up on which to keep, so your help please!!!

I like big fat aggresive wheels/tyres [running 20" stormers].
So my bias for now is with the 19/MTR's
But, I love the huge profile on the BFG's and their supposedly relatively low road noise.

Usage is for special off road days converting back to Stormers.
So rim damage is not a problem.
BUT, would possibly want to run throughout the winter.
I do a lot of long distance motorway driving, so don't know how noise will fair.
So ---- Which Off Road Tyres do I run with ???

btw, one set is up for sale!!

camphone pic of both against my d3 [not fitted]

BFG. Better to drive on, better to look at. The age of bling is over. 17" is the new 20". Thumbs Up

From an aesthetical point of view... the RRS19's with 255/50 MTR's

AT's are better for all round use and quiet on the road + very capable off-road

MTR's look 8) and are better in really muddy off-road situations but a bit noisy on the motorway

(You can get round all Tong on AT's Whistle )

I recon you should go for the 17" BFGs

Mind you that might be because I could be interested in the 19" MTRs if you come to sell them to replace my set of 6x 18" with AT2s Rolling with laughter
LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Embarassed sorry Ken, was just trying to remember without looking!!

Ideally I should try a set of each on and give it a go.
Only trouble is swmbo will find out and then all the usual questions/thumpings will arise!

Yes, she is quite smart, she can tell the difference between stormers/17's & 19's!
I know cos when I got the stormers I thought they looked a wee bit like over-exagerated 18" stlye 2's that I used to have - thought she'd never notice, oh boy! .. but she could tell the difference!.

Thanks so far guys[& gals].
Just wish I knew how to do a Poll on this thread.
[a mods intervention would be appreciated]
But think BFG's are winning so far.
Thumbs Up

No contest Ron.....if you want them for serious off-road use and then comfortable motorway use then the 17" BFGs win hands down.

And when the BFGs wear out, you can stick some 17" Grabbers on them Thumbs Up
